To Patients and Friends of EMA,
The safety and health of you our patients including all of our staff is our first priority! We want to reassure all of you that EMA Dental will not re-open until we have all of the proper protocols in place to assure a comfortable and safe visit. Our office has been in daily contact with representatives at state and national levels who are developing the revised safety protocols that we at EMA and the entire medical community will have to institute in the near future to assure the safety of all. We can tell you, even now with the emergency/urgent care patients we are seeing that we already have instituted additional safety protocols that you will all see upon our reopening. Layered screening of patients prior to emergency visits include questionnaires: Do you have any type of low-grade fever coupled with a cough? Any respiratory complaints, fatigue, or muscle aches? This currently is followed by in office, prior to treatment, non- contact forehead temperature scans being less than 100*. This is being done both for patients and staff entering EMA office facilities. Clinical staff are using additional protective shielding to protect patient/doctor during all patient visits. I again want to reassure all patients that we continue to be here for you, our administrative staff answering phones Mon-Thursday 9-4 and Fridays 9-1. Doctors have been involved in numerous patient phone consults, with your phone cameras being a wonderful resource to minimize emergency in office visits. We also have received numerous requests for our in office dental preventive items such as Rx strength mouth rinses (Periogard), sensitive teeth toothpastes (Prevident), Moisturizing Mouth rinses and sprays (Spry), and Tooth whitening gels and syringes from our Refresh Tooth Whitening Spa! Please feel free to call the office and we would be happy to quickly mail them to you. On a final note as President of the Valley District Dental Society I have been involved in coordinating an effort of all dentists here in the Valley, while we are closed to donate some of our much needed PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) including masks, gloves, face shields, and disposable gowns to our medical colleagues at local hospitals who are in much greater need at this time. EMA is supporting this cause donating PPE along with both offices in East Longmeadow and Northampton serving as drop off points for local dentists. The first shipment of these items went to Baystate Medical Center yesterday, and Cooley and the other hospitals getting the supplies tomorrow Friday afternoon. Please keep updated at our website emadental.com where we are creating a COVID-19 area for patient information. Please be safe and we look forward to seeing all of you soon, making sure that you will have the quality of life you deserve with a healthy and beautiful smile!
