What is Refresh Whitening?
EMA’s Refresh Whitening Spa is a new concept in whitening and dental hygiene delivery that was proudly launched in our East Longmeadow office in 2014. Here in the serenity of our upstairs studio our whitening professionals can take your smile to the next level. Refresh is an in-office light activated tooth whitening procedure that uses a specially formulated whitening gel. The main ingredient in the whitening gel is hydrogen peroxide, with added potassium nitrate and fluoride to minimize sensitivity. This gel is then activated by heatless lamps. Our system has consistently shown to deliver excellent results with little to no sensitivity.
What does the procedure entail?
Optimum whitening results are achieved on clean, polished teeth so we encourage our patients to visit Refresh immediately following their routine hygiene visit. For those patients visiting Refresh outside their hygiene schedule the procedure begins with polishing the teeth to remove plaque and superficial staining and a pre-whitening rinse. Your whitening professional will then place soft retraction barrier to keep you lips away from your teeth and the whitening gel. A gingival barrier is placed to protect your gums and cotton applied for comfort. You then move to a spa like atmosphere where you can rest in a comfy reclining chair with soothing music. The whitening gel is applied to the front surface of your teeth and a lamp is positioned over the “smile zone.” Relax and enjoy!
