It is important to the dentists at EMA Dental that unnecessary radiographs are avoided. We follow strict guidelines designed to reduce your exposure to radiation, while still giving them as much valuable information about the state of your mouth as possible. Radiographs are an important part of the diagnostic process because they help us see what might not be visible to the naked eye, such as the health of the bones in your mouth, cavities hiding between your teeth, and the roots of your teeth. Nerves and lesions are also visible on radiographs.

We consider dental radiographs a necessary step in achieving our goal in helping you maintain the best dental health possible. To maximize your time in our office, we use digital imaging technology. This is quicker and more efficient than traditional 35mm film imaging. Your exposure time is about 50 percent less when digital imaging is used.

Digital X-Rays

Plus, digital imaging allows a quicker transfer of data to your dental specialists or insurance company. They also expose you to one-sixth of the radiation released by 35mm film X-rays.
